Monday morning, and the flesh is willing
The spirit’s weak on a rainy day
Keep my head down as I run between the buildings
Midtown Manhattan’s nothing but suits and gray
Suits and gray
I break down and I buy a cheap umbrella
Left my good one on the train
Hand ten dollars to an over-happy fella
Only guy in town happy to see this rain
As I’m hurrying away
He calls, “Have an awesome day”
What’s so great about the great outdoors
Everybody’s got an opinion; you’re entitled to yours
You can do what you need to do, and I’ll find somewhere to hide
‘Cause it’s a good day to be inside
Wintertime in Onondaga County
Snow is falling down again
One reason why I could never be a townie
Haven’t seen the sun since I can’t remember when
Just want to be safe and warm
And they’re like “Wasn’t that a beautiful storm”
What’s so great about the great outdoors
Everybody’s got an opinion; you’re entitled to yours
You can do what you need to do, and I’ll find somewhere to hide
‘Cause it’s a good day to be inside
Early June on the Garden State Parkway
And we’re headed down the shore
Traffic’s moving; we should make it by midday
Eighty-five and sunny, just what you were hoping for
It’s your favorite thing to do
And I’d go anywhere with you
But still I wonder
What’s so great about the great outdoors
Everybody’s got an opinion; you’re entitled to yours
It’s your turn in the driver’s seat, and I’m along for the ride
But it’s a good day to be inside
What’s so great about the great outdoors
Everybody’s got an opinion; you’re entitled to yours
You can do what you need to do, and I’ll take it all in stride
But it’s a good day to be (inside)
We could slip away to be (inside)
It’s a good day to be inside
